Upper Salmon Creek Trail 33E36

This was my first little ride on Friday after we arrived and did our first little hike.

Most of the 2.5 mile trail is nice buff, pine needle and pinecone covered singletrack.
Usually landmarks receive exaggerated names but in this case Big Meadow is appropriate. Nice payoff for a nice, simple climb. Cannell Trail 33E32 skirts this side of the meadow, it climbs to the north 6-7 miles up to Sherman Pass Rd and drops approx 20 miles to the south down to Kernville.
These trails are so seldomly ridden that some of them are just covered with pinecones. This is the least of it. I've currently got this one fullscreen as my background image. Excellent reminder of an excellent weekend!
This cool granite section of Salmon Creek was the pay off for checking out an unmarked trail and doing a little slippin' and slidin' in my cleats, my soles have worn down a bit so the cleats are protruding enough to make negotiating some of the steeper sections kind of sketchy.
A few technical sections to finish off the unmarked trail. Nice way to finish the day!
